Volume 3 of a 4-part CDPAC report on marketing of sugar-sweetened beverages is now available.

It recommends:

  • Retailers: Encourage retailers to review their display policy to limit exposure of children and teenagers to sugar-sweetened beverages
  • Municipal-level: Limit the distribution of sugar-sweetened beverages in municipal establishments frequented by young people (arenas, community centres, etc.) and offer systematically more nutritious alternatives
  • Provincial-level: Prohibit the sale of sugar-sweetened beverages in buildings under provincial jurisdiction, particularly those frequented by young people (hospitals, schools, etc.)
  • Federal-level: Prohibit the sale of sugar-sweetened beverages in buildings under federal jurisdiction, particularly those frequented by young people (airports, national parks, etc.
